Dear parents,

Welcome back to a new year at Durack State School!

With the first day of school approaching (Wednesday 27th January), it is important that we inform parents about entering school grounds.

This advice is of Monday 25th January 2021- This advice can change quickly and parents are asked to be stay informed via our school communication sites.

Our school operates under 'COVID normal'  conditions, and parents and carers are welcome on state school sites and asked to support our school to stay safe.

First Day of School

Morning

  1. Maintain social distancing at all times.  
  2. Be aware of the number of people in the classroom and follow the advice of the classroom teacher or staff member in regards entry and social distancing.
  3. Please use hand sanitiser and wash hands.  
  4. To avoid congestion, please deliver your child to the classroom, say goodbye and leave the school grounds promptly.   Your patience is greatly appreciated. 
  5. Guests, relatives or visitors will nee to sign in contract tracing reasons - parents and guardians are not required.

Afternoon

  1. Maintain social distancing at all times.  
  2. Please use the Stop Drop and Go correctly (stay in your vehicle) or Community Car Park if possible.
  3. Please use hand sanitiser and wash hands.  
  4. Be aware of the number of people in the classroom and follow the advice of the classroom teacher or staff member in regards entry and social distancing.
  5. Adults must limit gathering at drop-off and pick-up time, in the car park, outside classrooms and at the school gate.

Please do not visit a school if you are sick. Anyone who is showing signs of illness or feeling unwell must stay at home, contact their doctor or call 13HEALTH (13 43 25 84) and get tested .

Schools will continue to ensure physical distancing and high standards of health and hygiene are practised on site in accordance with Queensland Health advice .
