Local services

The Inala Civic Centre (part of this is known as Inala Plaza) is 400m from the school on Inala Avenue.  There is a major supermarkets (and one more soon), three banks, a post office, many specialty shops and services,   Here and in other parts of the suburbs there are several medical centres, doctors, pharmacies, and dentists.  Many of the businesses are owned by Vietnamese Australians, including several restaurants and snack bars. The Brisbane City Council Library is at the southern end of this complex.

Transport

From the Bus Interchange at the Inala Civic Centre, buses service the local area and also travel to Forest Lake, Mount Ommanney, Indooroopilly where there are shopping malls, and into the city centre.  Several buses link with train services at Richlands, Darra, Oxley and Corinda railway stations.  You can see all the services on Translink map for Inala.  For more information on the cities bus services

BUZ service operates every ten minutes between Inala Plaza and Brisbane city centre.  Other bus routes stop at the Inala Plaza (See Map).

Go Cards which are used to pare fares can be bought at Inala Plaza newsagents. You can plan journeys throughout the region on Translink.

Libraries

Brisbane City Council Library (Search for Inala Library for opening hours, services).

Library membership is free to anyone who studies in Brisbane.  As you are under 18, you will need your carer or guardian to provide their ID when you join.  If you are under 18, you will be given a Children's Card.  Borrowing books, magazines, videos, computer programs and using their internet terminals is free, but there are charges for some services and fines of 35 cents a day for each overdue item.  The Inala branch of this library has special collections of Vietnamese and Spanish language materials.

There are many parks in the area, some with play structures.  DJ Sherrington park has a skateboard bowl.

Inala PCYC : Swallow Street, Inala.  Membership at a reasonable cost for 12 months.  Fees are charged for most activities.  The centre offers, at a fee, before-school  and after-school care, dropping off and picking up children from Durack SS,
