STEAM learning applies meaningful maths, science, and technology content to solve real-world problems through hands-on learning activities and creative design. At Durack State School, we strive to give all students a great start to their STEAM education by providing multiple opportunities for participation.
Our STEAM program is an educational approach to learning that links Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics for guiding student inquiry, collaborate skills, problem solving, as well as critical and creative thinking. Durack’s STEAM team is driving the initiative throughout the school with innovative and creative challenges, preparing the students for the jobs of the future.
Durack’s students have been involved in the Robotics First LEGO league regional competitions over the past 3 years, leaving proudly with awards of “innovative solutions for Into Orbit”, and “inspiration for Animal Allies”.
STEAM is expanding throughout the school with students receiving weekly opportunities to engage in STEAM, in the classroom or through academic extension classes and extra-curricular clubs.
