Induction Day

Following an orientation session new staff across cluster schools visit several of the following destinations as available to us at the time.

  • The Inala Elders - where they can gain knowledge of the Inala story and a greater understanding of protocol and the Elders point of view regarding their role, the education of indigenous children, barriers and solutions
  • Inala Wangarra - a group involved with Styling Up, dance workshops, indigenous games and other activities
  • Wandarrah Pre-School - which works at giving indigenous students a head start
  • Inala Community Health and if available Dr Noel Hayman, Clinical Director of the Inala Indigenous Health Service ( winner of the 14th Deadly Award for outstanding achievement in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health; 2011 QLD Australian of the Year) )                   
  • Dandiiri Library, in Kittyhawk Ave, Inala - an Education Queensland resource centre 
  • Mission Australia  -  which assists families in the raising of their children, organises playgroups, fosters circles of care among many activities. 
  • Ngutana-Lui, The Catholic Education Indigenous cultural centre in Inala.
